Mary-Lu Zahalan is a Juno-nominated recording artist with three CD’s to her credit. She was signed to a publishing deal with Sony Music and worked with such renowned producers as David Foster and Humberto Gatica.

Mary-Lu is the Creator and Head of the Commercial Vocal Department in the Music Theatre Degree Program at Oakville’s Sheridan Institute of Advanced Learning and Technology. She now holds the distinction of being a Professor of Popular Music Theory and Performance after completing her Masters (cum laude) in The Beatles, Popular Music and Society at Liverpool Hope University in the UK. Mary-Lu’s dissertation, Cultural Capital: The Beatles in Canada was published in 2011 by The Beatle Works (Chicago, IL).

Her latest book, co-written with Lorraine Lawson, is Power of Performance: Becoming the Artist You are Meant to Be published by Elite Coach Publishing, Toronto, 2019.


Magi Oman
Lighting & Projection Designer

Magi Oman holds an M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama. She also has a degree in Engineering from Queen’s University and is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design. Magi has been on the faculty at Sheridan College where she has been teaching in the Faculty of Animation Arts & Design for the past 15 years. She has also taught in the theatre programs at the University of Guelph, York University, Humber College and Queen’s University.

In addition to her academic work, Magi has been asked to speak at conferences and academic conventions across Canada and in Europe. Magi is based in Toronto and works as a freelance projection, lighting and set designer. Selected credits include Three Sisters for Theatre Erindale; The Cradle Will Rock, Dogfight, Sweet Charity, Little Women, Marathon of Hope, Assassins, The Drowsy Chaperone, Cabaret, A New Brain and Urinetown for Theatre Sheridan; My Name is Raj for TIFF Bell Lightbox; Body & Soul for Dove Pro-Age at Young Centre for the Performing Arts; A Christmas Carol for Theatre Calgary; Oy di velt vet vern yinger for Jumblies Theatre – Mayworks Festival; Stan Rogers ~ A Matter Of Heart for Theatre Orangeville and Thousand Islands Playhouse; Squonk Opera for Rare Gem Productions; Grimm Tales and The Vic at the George Luscombe Theatre; Midsummer Night’s Dream, Celebrazio, At The Black Pig’s Dyke, La Ronde, Macbeth and Lion in the Streets for Theatre Humber; The Great Highway: Zones of the Spirit at the Yale Repertory Theatre; Hamlet for Yale University Theatre. Magi worked with Cirque du Soleil as a projection consultant for “O” in Las Vegas. Magi has also worked with the Arvisura Szinhazi Tarsasag (Budapest), and the Amakhosi Theatre (Zimbabwe).
